Today Abby experienced something new -- a lizard bite!!! Abby and Taylor were invited to Club Invention (guests of Josiah and Ezra). Let me back up just a bit... Ever since we arrived in AZ Abby has been dying to catch a lizard. She tried and tried and tried to catch the small lizards hanging out on Grandma and Grandpa's wall -- no luck. But, after Club Invention the kids spied a lizard. The were able to catch this big monster (honestly, I'm not sure I would have had the courage to trap this big guy)!! It had a beautiful bluish-greenish underbelly. Do you notice the gloves?? Yes, after one big chomp on Abby's finger the gloves were on. The bite drew a bit of blood -- this memory will not soon fade!!!
While the girls were at Club Invention and Ben enjoyed some play time with Grandma and Grandpa, Greg and I went on a hike to Romero Canyon (in Catalina State Park). What a great hike and what a great workout (about a 5 or 6 mile hike). I realize that I now hike as fast as the slowest hiker in our family (which would be one of the kids). Yikes! Greg was very kind to wait up for the old lady (at certain stages I was feeling my age -- especially on the uphill climbs). I thoroughly enjoyed our time together -- thanks Tom, Susan, Jeff and Stacy :)
