Patchless

Good news .... Ben does not need to wear his patch anymore!!! I can't even imagine how many patches he has worn in his 6 years. If we do notice that his eye is looking overly "tired" we may have to resume the patch. We continue to pray:)

Prayer is Beautiful

As I was uploading Ben's birthday pictures and remembering back on his first few days of life, I paused and praised the Lord for our little miracle. He is a daily reminder of the power of prayer. He and his sisters are beautiful blessings from our Wonderful Saviour:)

September 14th Benny's Birthday

Our awesome little man celebrated his 6th birthday!!!!!! We had chocolate chip pancakes, made a cake, ate pepperoni pizza, ate cake and ice cream and opened presents. What a wonderful way to celebrate a wonderful person:)

School

Snapshot of our school experience. Benny working on his workbox (just finished his Wedgit creation) and Abby practicing her French body parts:)

Living Inside Out

Every week this summer we made a trip to Providence Baptist Church so that the kids could participate in Living Inside Out -- a musical production. Abby was Lucy, Taylor was Kendall and Ben was a sheep!! The kids did a great job!!

Workbox fun

A great example of the workbox system. Mixing learning and fun into our school day.

Science -- fun after class

A little fun after science class:)

Science -- Our first Physics class

We started our science co-op with a bunch of smiling faces. This year we are using the Noeo Physics book -- we are all very excited. We studied guy wires (they hold up the tall radio towers) and the kids used the same concept with a ruler and string -- they did a great job. They also studied the center of gravity by building towers from blocks (the lower the center of gravity the sturdier the tower).

History -- London Burning

What a great history class -- we burned London (do you think that the kids will remember this one??)!! We reenacted the fire of 1666 where 4/5 of London was burned. Note: firefighter Ben was ready just in case our fire go out of hand:)

Wildlife -- in our backyard!

On the 3rd of Sep. Taylor finds a toad in the yard -- the next day we trap an opossum!! Pretty exciting two days:) We were trying to capture and relocate a groundhog in our yard -- we were very surprised to find the opossum in the trap!!!

The opossum was verrryyy lethargic!! Not sure if we woke him up, but I think that we could have actually pet the thing (but no, we did not).

September -- science

On the 2nd of September our science co-op gathered to put the final touches on our Periodic Table lapbook (a few more minor details need to be completed -- a picture will be posted soon). This wrapped our study of Chemistry. Next stop --->>> Physics!!

August -- school

We started school on the last day of August. Behind the kids you will see my new school tool -- workboxes:)

August -- beach

Another successful trip to Dewy Beach in Delaware!!! We love it here. We spent three nights at the Surf Club and had the pleasure of spending time with friends from VA (2 separate families were in the area the same time that we were there).

Greg's sand pyramid creation!! It is so fun to dig and create in the sun -- no matter what the age:)

August -- creativity

Abby used her creative juices to make the kids look like chefs!!! It was a great way for them bide their time as mom and dad were packing for a trip to the beach!!

August --

Another successful country study with our friends. This time we visited the Netherlands!! Windmills, Dutch hats, butter cookies, wooden shoes, dikes -- fun time had by all:)

August - swim lessons

More swim lessons for Ben -- this time the girls joined him!
